Tankless Water Heaters
Never Run Out of Hot Water Again
Whether you’re considering replacing your conventional water heater with a tankless system or you’re looking for routine tankless water heater maintenance, you’ve come to the right place.
Upgrading From Tank to Tankless
When you upgrade your water heater to an energy-efficient tankless system, you will never look back. Gone are the days of running out of hot water or waiting for the dishwasher to finish before you can hop in the shower. Here’s what you can expect when you make the switch to a tankless system:
- Longer Life Expectancy – The life expectancy of a tankless water heater is 15-20 years – lasting sometimes twice as long as a traditional tank water heater.
- More Energy Efficient – A traditional tank water heater works continuously to keep the water stored inside at the desired temperature. In comparison, a tankless water heater only heats water when you need it, leading to significant energy savings.
- Unlimited Hot Water – Because a tankless water heater heats water on demand, it continues to heat water as long as your tap is open. Last one in line for the shower in the morning? Don’t worry, we’ll keep it hot for you.
- Saves Space – It doesn’t just take a lot of energy to store 30-80 gallons of hot water in your home – it also takes a lot of space. Ditching the tank for a tankless, wall-mounted water heater gives you back precious real estate in your garage or utility room.

Tankless Water Heater Maintenance
Protect Your Investment With Routine Care

As your tankless system heats water, minerals in the water stick to the sides of the pipes. As those minerals accumulate over time, build-up in the pipes affects water flow and heat transfer, preventing the system from being able to heat water as efficiently. Therefore, it’s important to flush your tankless water heater during a routine maintenance service at least once each year. Learn more about what we do during tankless water heater tune-ups here.
Maximize Equipment Lifespan
A tankless water heater can last 15-20 years – when it’s well-maintained. Just your car needs regular oil changes, your tankless system needs care as well in order to remain dependable.
Increase Energy Efficiency
A lack of regular maintenance affects water flow and heat transfer, forcing your tankless system to work harder and use more energy to heat the water in your home.
Keep Warranty Valid
If a water heater breakdown is caused by a lack of proper maintenance, the manufacturer may void your warranty and deny the claim. Maintenance ensures that your warranty coverage remains valid.
Avoid Breakdowns
Many tankless water heater issues, such as mineral scaling or clogged filters, can be traced back to a lack of maintenance. Annual maintenance is the best way to keep your water heater running efficiently and catch small issues before they become larger, more expensive problems.
Tankless Water Heater Repair
As Rinnai PROs, technicians at Alltemp Air receive specialized training and are well-equipped to diagnose and repair any tankless water heater issue. While Rinnai is our primary brand, we repair and maintain most brands of tankless systems.
If you’re experiencing any of these issues, it’s time to give our technicians a call:
- Error code displayed
- Fluctuating water temperatures
- Unusual noises, such as banging or rumbling
- Lack of hot water
As a general rule, a replacement may be worth considering if your system is over 10 years old and requiring frequent repairs.
Our goal is to help you get the most out of your investment and provide you with all of the information you need to make an informed choice. We’ll diagnose the problem, explain your options, and recommend the right fix – no upselling, no guesswork.
Tankless Water Heater Recirculation
Hot Water Where You Need It, When You Need It
While tankless hot water heaters start heating water as soon as you open the tap, the wait time before the water coming out starts to feel warm depends on the distance between the tap and the tankless system itself. If your shower is upstairs and your tankless hot water heater is in the garage, the cold water that’s been sitting in the pipes has to be purged before the hot water can reach its destination. Adding a recirculator to your Rinnai system eliminates that issue.
Waste Less Water
Recirculating water through the pipes before you open the tap means that there’s no longer cold water needing to be purged before the hot water reaches its destination. No more letting the faucet run while the water heats up.
Set Your Schedule
Program your weekly schedule through the Rinnai app so that the recirculator runs only during the hours that you need it – circulating when you’re getting ready in the morning or making dinner, and off when you’re at work or sleeping.
Save Energy
By setting your recirculator to run only when you need it, or turning on “vacation mode” to keep it off altogether when you’re away, you can avoid wasted energy.

How often should I schedule maintenance on my tankless water heater?
Most manufacturers recommend scheduling maintenance on your tankless water heater at least once per year. Adding your tankless system to your Maintenance Plan with Alltemp means that maintenance will never be forgotten. Plus, a technician can flush your hot water heater during the same visit that they perform your HVAC maintenance, meaning one less appointment on your schedule.
Do I really need maintenance on my tankless water heater, or can I just call you when I have a problem?
When a tankless water heater stops working as it should, the issue can usually be traced back to a lack of proper maintenance. Having your tankless system flushed and checked by a professional annually keeps it operating efficiently, maximizes your equipment lifespan, avoids unexpected and potentially costly repairs, and keeps your manufacturer warranty valid.
What is the warranty on a Rinnai tankless water heater?
When installed by a professional service company like Alltemp Air, the warranty on most Rinnai tankless water heaters is 5 years labor with 5 years on parts and 15 years on heat exchanger.
Will I ever run out of hot water with a tankless system?
Tankless hot water heaters offer unlimited hot water – meaning that as long as the tap is open, the system will continue to heat water. However, tankless systems do have flow rate limitations, meaning that depending on the size of your system, it may struggle to keep up with demand if you turn on too many appliances or showers at once. Alltemp’s estimators can help you determine the proper sizing for your home and needs.
Can I replace my tank water heater with a tankless system?
Yes, you can replace your traditional tank water heater with a tankless hot water heater! Call Alltemp to make an appointment for a free estimate and consultation.
Do you install and repair conventional water heaters?

My tankless water heater takes a long time to heat up. Is there anything I can do about that?
Yes! We highly recommend adding a recirculator if your tankless system does not already have one installed. You can find more information about recirculation pumps here.
Do you work on other brands of tankless water heaters besides Rinnai?
We repair and maintain most brands of tankless water heaters. However, we only install Rinnai.
