HVAC Challenges Unique to Frankford

Frankford is one of the smallest towns in our service area, a compact historic community along Route 113 between Selbyville and Dagsboro. Many homes here date back to the town’s 19th-century roots, with the kind of older construction and retrofitted ductwork that comes with a home that’s been standing for a hundred years or more.

Unlike some of the faster-growing towns nearby, Frankford has stayed small and largely unchanged, so most of our work here is servicing and maintaining established systems in long-standing homes rather than sizing equipment for new construction.

The town’s original growth came from the Pennsylvania Railroad, which brought a hotel, shops, and an opera house through Frankford in the late 1800s. Several buildings from that era are still standing today, including the Capt. Ebe Chandler House, and older commercial buildings downtown need the same careful, retrofit-minded approach as the historic homes around them.
